The 99'er Restaurant

The 99'er restaurant is located right next to the Britannia Tea Room. Looking out over the beautiful Howe Sound, with a forest behind, it's what to look for if you want a great view. Every meal, from the delicious Hawaiian Burger, to the yummy 99'er french fries, is all homecooked, no frozen foods. You've got the choice to eat outside on the deck, when it's a hot sunny day, or inside, when you want to warm up.  Unlike most of the other businesses in Britannia Beach, the 99'er stayed open throughout the flood of 1991, to keep serving the community. They were able to do this because all that got flooded was the basement.  In The summer of 1996, the movie crew of Excess Baggage, starring Alicia Silverstone, used the restaurant to film. This was one of many different times when Britannia Beach was used as a movie set.

BRITANNIA HOUSE

Restaurant & Tea Room

A 1905 heritage house, owned by the BC Museum of Mining, is home to Britannia House Restaurant & Tea Room. Nestled in amongst the trees on highway 99, the sweeping view from Britannia House encompasses the waters of Howe Sound, snowy mountain peaks and evergreen cloaked hills. In the winter travelers can enjoy a delicious meal by a cozy crackling wood-burning stove; and in the summer a shady patio, surrounded by trees and rocky bluffs, is the ideal spot for relaxing break on the often busy road to Whistler.

Meals are prepared from scratch and thus takes a few minuets longer to serve, but most agree its well worth the wait. Breakfast is available all day, lunch from 11 am - 5 p.m. with homemade soups, burgers and more, and of course our specialty, Afternoon Tea is served 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., There is something for everyone on the menu at Britannia House Restaurant and Tea Room.

Britannia Creek General Store

In Febuary of 2000 the store was closed down and the era of the Britannia  Creek General Store was over.  In March of 2000  the store was open for bussiness again but this time it was under the hand  of Larry from next door at the Native Arts Shop.  The antiques that  used to amaze so many visitors are now gone and replaced by a large selection  of goods including kids toys and colouring books(good for those long trips  you highway 99) to camping gear.  Everything has changed...the walls  that used to be original wood from the theatre days are now painted white and there are more trinkets to buy and no antiques.  But Larry does  have some antique coins that are located at the till area. Like almost everything in Britannia Beach, the Store is in a Historic building. An old movie theater to be exact. The cement enclosure that was used as a  projection room, is still in the top.

Sherry's Cappuccino

Sherry's Cappuccino started 1996, with a partial grant. Sherry serves several different coffees, including regular and decafe, cappuccino, latte, iced latte, mocha, and iced mocha. Coffee isn't the only thing that Sherry's has to offer, she also serves other drinks, and snacks such as ice cream, milkshakes, baked goodies, bagels, granola bars, italian soda's, Snapple iced tea, pop, water, and fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice.

What really makes Sherry's Cappuccino special isn't the wide range of coffee and goodies, it's the view and attitude in the immediate area, so come on by and see for yourself!
