Emerging Artist Competition

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Sea to Sky Film Festival is putting out a call to all residents of the Sea to Sky corridor. This competition is open to all independent filmmakers in the corridor. Student films welcomed.  A panel of judges will be awarding certificates in: Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay.

The Event will take place at the Adventure Centre in Squamish on Thursday March 13, 2008 at 7:00pm. This is a hosted event, and all filmmakers will get a chance to introduce their film/video.

Competitive short film festival

• open to all residents in Sea to Sky corridor
• no entry fee
• categories: comedy and drama
• judged event with prizes for winning films.

Rules and Regulations

• All films and videos must be submitted on DVD.
• films and videos must be 10 minutes or under.
• Deadline for submissions is Friday March 7^th at 5:00pm

History

The Sea to Sky Film Festival was founded in 1996 to expose Howe Sound residents to high-calibre independent films; to expose them to different varieties and genres; to experience the different textures and styles of filmmaking and to provide another venue for independent filmmakers to showcase their work.  To date we showed well over hundred films from all over the world. This competition puts the spotlight on the local scene.
