If you are having an emergency, like your house is on fire or someone just robbed you, call 911 for help. This number is only for emergencies however, do not call unless you have to.

This is an anonymous service, an answering machine will answer and you can leave information about something that has happened or will happen (for example a fight). Police Officers listen to the message and then make sure you get the help you need. If you want them to be able to reach you, please make sure you leave a phone number. Also, make sure you include the name of the town you are calling from.

 

Helpline for children

dial 0 for the operator and then ask for Zenith 1234.

 

This is a confidential free service for anyone needing help, or for any person who knows of a child who is being abused or neglected. It operates 24 hours a day and there is always a social worker at the other end of the phone. You do not have to identify yourself. If you need help this service will listen to you and refer you to someone who will help you.

If you want to call this number from Squamish it will be long distance. Try calling collect. They'll probably accept the charges.
