- They offer emergency and short-term care for ages 6 weeks to 6 years,
single parent support groups, andÝÿ a free soup and bannock
program. An alcohol and drug counsellor is also available. They also run
a regular community kitchen program where you plan and prepare a meal with
a group of women. Call to register for this.

- This committee meets regularly to improve the childbearing/child rearing
experience of families in the Howe Sound area (Britannia to D'Arcy). They
address gaps in prenatal education (ie. ethnic groups, teen moms), they
provide education, assist and develop community resources (eg. Howe Sound
Breastfeeding Support Group, Howe Sound Post Partum Support Group, Labour
Support Pool, Prenatal Classes, Parents and Tot Drop-in Group) and improve
communication between everyone inovolved in your childbearing and childbearing
experience.
