- Birthright is an organisation that provides support for pregnant women,
including pregnancy tests, maternity clothing, baby clothes and some education.
They have fall and summer hours so please call ahead to check the hours
before you drop-in.

- Birthright may counsel you against abortion so if you are trying
to make a decision about what is best for you, and abortion is one of your
options, you may want to receive impartial counselling at a women's centre
(try the one in Squamish at #892-5748), medical clinic (like Every Women's
Health Centre in Vancouver) or a Planned Parenthood Clinic.

- Call ahead to make an appointment. They offer counselling for unexpected
pregnancies. They provide free pregnancy tests, education on pregnancy,
abortion, and alternatives to abortion, as well as post-abortion counselling.
They also can provide you with free baby clothes, prenatal classes and
referrals.

- Phone ahead and make an appointment to see a worker. Unfortunately,
there is usually a long waiting list (3-4 months) to see someone. They
offer nutrition counselling to pregnant women of all ages. As well, they
offer food and bus transportation coupons in some situations.

- The staff at this clinic is usually youth friendly and non-judgemental.
Each of the times I've been there I've had to wait for at least 45 minutes
to see a doctor. If it's your first time at the clinic you will see a health
nurse before you see the doctor, the nurse will provide you with information,
support and counselling. If you want to purchase birth control from this
clinic you must see their doctor (a man), and you must either recieve a
pap test or have your results from your latest pap test with you. After
your first visit you will be able to purchase birth control from them without
having to see a doctor, this means you won't have to wait 45 minutes to
get what you need.

counselling, some legal aid and special events. They are very friendly,
non-judgemental and always willing to help. If you need support, give them
