On this page we plan to have information on the transit system in Squamish, what time it runs, who to phone for information and how much it costs. We also will be posting information on the HandyDART bus, the Maverick coachline into Vancouver and how to get your own driver's license (both in Vancouver and Squamish)

Getting a Driver's License
When you turn 16 you are able to apply for a driver's license in BC (if you are under 19 you will need your parent or guardian's consent). To do this in Squamish you have to go down to the Department of Motor Vehicles in the Squamish Credit Union building on 2nd Ave. When you're there you can get a book on driving tips that you'll need to study before you take the written exam for a driver's license. After you pass your test, and eventually you will, you will get a learner's license which allows you to begin to drive, with adult supervision. The learner's license is good for 6 months but after 30 days you can apply to take your road test. If you pass you will then become a driver, and you will receive your very own driver's license. Yay!
